Team meetings when the spark for Women & Automotive was first born. Thoughts that launched an initiative. The Canadian auto industry veterans that shared our team’s vision — and helped proliferate its goals.
All of these played key roles in the launch and success of Women & Automotive. It certainly doesn’t seem like it could be five years ago when this journey began. But yet, here we are, approaching the 5th Women & Automotive Canadian Leadership Forum at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, come September 14, directly following the Auto Remarketing Canada Conference.
The W&A Call for Speakers is open through June 1!
And when it’s hard to believe how long ago a dream, or idea, came to fruition, and how very far its come, there’s never a bad time to look back on its beginnings.
Let’s take a few moments to consider some highlights since W&A first hit Toronto:
- On Dec. 16, 2015, Cherokee Media Group first announced a brand new conference focusing on diversity in the Canadian automotive industry was headed to Toronto in the spring of 2016. Year 1!
- As the event gains steam in 2016, women auto leaders and industry shapers offer their perspectives on why an event like Women & Automotive has a place in our industry.
- Since the launch of the W&A event, we have honored a new group of women each year in our annual Profiles in Leadership class for their contributions to the auto industry and advancement and support of women in this business sector.
- The 4th Women & Automotive event hit Toronto last March, and this blog post gives you a full-picture view of what went down in 2019.
